HI, I’M MELISSA, FOUNDER OF LIVVE.

I am a Registered British Menopause Society Menopause Specialist and Member of The International Menopause Society. Inspired by my two boys, family & friends, the support and my colleagues I decided to take the plunge and set up LIVVE - An accessible, affordable Menopause Platform.

In my 23 years experience working as a qualified pharmacist in community, hospital and GP settings, I’ve seen first-hand the lack of available support and affordable treatment plans for women suffering with menopausal symptoms.

It’s frustrating. It’s shortening lives. It’s impacting women's health. And it’s not good enough.

After experiencing perimenopause symptoms in my early 40’s, I became passionate about enhancing my knowledge and providing a service that can support as many women as possible.

Bushra Effendi Specialist Pharmacist

Bushra Effendi is a specialist pharmacist with nearly 20 years of experience across primary, secondary, and private care settings. With a focus on women's health, particularly menopause care, she is dedicated to empowering women with the knowledge and resources to navigate this life transition. 

Bushra serves on the Clinical Advisory Panel for The Menopause Charity and is the pharmacist representative for the Courses Committee of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (FSRH). Her extensive qualifications include the BMS PPMC course, the Foundation Level International Menopause Society course, and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health Essentials of Menopause Care program and is currently working towards her Advanced British Menopause Society accreditation and Advanced certificate in menopause care.

Melissa Sookia Founder & Superintendent Pharmacist

Melissa is the Founder of LIVVE and has worked as a pharmacist for over 23 years, and as a prescriber for over 13 years.

She is a Registered British Menopause Society Menopause Specialist and Member of The International Menopause Society.

Her aim is to provide affordable, accessible care to women without all the faff! She provides a holistic approach to treating all 48 symptoms of the menopause and is passionate about education and awareness for individuals and corporates.
