Vaginal & intimate health

Vaginal discomfort? You deserve answers, not guesswork.

Dryness, irritation, painful sex or urinary changes can be part of perimenopause and menopause. They can affect everyday life — and they deserve proper attention.

At LIVVE, we look at what’s happening, not just which product you might need. Our clinicians can advise on treatment, prescribe where appropriate and make sure you know how to use your medication — all supported by our UK pharmacy.

Need-to-know FAQs

Questions about vaginal health

Can vaginal symptoms happen even if I'm already taking HRT?

Yes. HRT patches, gels, sprays or tablets don’t always fully relieve vaginal dryness, soreness or discomfort. Vaginal oestrogen may help alongside your HRT. Our specialist menopause clinicians can review your symptoms and advise on a suitable treatment.

Do I need a consultation for vaginal treatment?

Not everyone needs a full menopause consultation. Some vaginal treatments are available following a pharmacy assessment, while others require a prescription and clinical assessment. Our team will guide you to the right option based on your symptoms, medical history and current treatment. Non-hormonal vaginal moisturisers and lubricants can be purchased without a prescription.

Are vaginal moisturisers and lubricants the same?

No. Vaginal moisturisers are used regularly to help relieve dryness and maintain moisture. Lubricants provide additional slip to reduce friction and discomfort during sexual activity. You may find both helpful.

What if treatment isn't helping?

Get in touch with our team so we can review your treatment and how you’re using it. Vaginal oestrogen can take up to three months to work fully, but persistent or worsening symptoms may need further assessment. If you have unusual discharge, bleeding after sex or unexplained vaginal bleeding, arrange a medical review rather than assuming it’s menopause-related.
