A tablet may feel simpler, but it is still medical treatment.

Not everyone needs the maximum dose. Dose increases depend on treatment response and tolerability. A lower dose may remain appropriate for longer.

Do not use trial capsule doses to calculate your tablets. Clinical trials used capsule strengths that are not substitutable milligram for milligram with the UK film-coated tablets.

Eligibility and clinical assessment

Could Foundayo be suitable for you?

It may be considered for adults living with obesity, or some adults living with overweight alongside a weight-related health condition. Suitability still depends on your wider health, medicines and individual treatment goals.

  1. Weight and health history

Your BMI, previous weight-management attempts and weight-related health risks are considered.

  2. Medical suitability

Your clinician reviews diabetes, diabetic eye disease, digestive conditions, gastroparesis, gallbladder problems, kidney or liver problems, pancreatitis and other relevant risks.

  3. Your medicines

Some medicines affect orforglipron levels or require additional monitoring, dose limits or changes.

  4. Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Foundayo is not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding and must be stopped before a planned pregnancy.

  5. Contraception

Oral hormonal contraception may be less effective after starting Foundayo and after each dose increase.

  6. Your goals

Your plan should focus on health, function and sustainable progress rather than a promised amount of weight loss.

How Foundayo works

It helps regulate appetite and fullness.

Orforglipron acts on GLP-1 receptors and works on areas of the brain involved in appetite. It can help you feel fuller for longer, reduce hunger and make cravings easier to manage.

It also delays stomach emptying, which can contribute to fullness but may cause digestive side effects, particularly while the dose is increasing.

It should not remove the need to eat. Regular, nourishing meals, adequate protein and enough fluid remain important.

Dose progression

Gradual dose increases

Treatment starts at 0.8 mg once daily. Any increase takes place only after at least 30 days and when clinically appropriate.

  1. Start at 0.8 mg

Begin at the licensed starting dose and learn how your appetite and digestion respond.

  2. Move to 2.5 mg

After at least 30 days, the dose increases to 2.5 mg once daily.

  3. Review response

Your clinician considers side effects, appetite, nutrition, weight progress and other medicines.

  4. Increase gradually

Further licensed steps are 5.5 mg, 9 mg, 14.5 mg and 17.2 mg.

  5. Find an effective dose

The aim is an effective, tolerable dose rather than reaching the maximum automatically.

  6. Maintain and review

Ongoing reviews consider benefit, side effects, adherence, nutrition and longer-term goals.

Taking your tablet

Take one tablet once daily.

A consistent time can help. Foundayo does not require a fasting routine, but taking it at a similar time each day may make it easier to remember.

  • Take it at any time of day.

  • Take it with or without food.

  • No specific water restriction is required.

  • Swallow the tablet whole.

  • Do not break, crush or chew it.

  • Do not combine tablets to create a higher dose.

  • Do not take more than one tablet in a day.

Side effects and safety

What you may notice, and when to get help

Digestive side effects are common, particularly while the dose is increasing. They are often mild or moderate, but persistent or severe symptoms need clinical advice.

  • Common effects

Nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting, indigestion and abdominal pain are among the most commonly reported effects.

  • Contact LIVVE

Speak to the team if symptoms persist, worsen, affect eating or drinking, or make it difficult to use treatment safely.

  • Seek urgent help

Get urgent advice for severe persistent abdominal pain, serious dehydration, a severe allergic reaction, sudden vision changes or other rapidly worsening symptoms.

Tell LIVVE about severe digestive problems or gastroparesis. Orforglipron has not been studied in severe gastrointestinal disease and should be used with caution.

Do not increase the dose because weight loss has slowed. Treatment response, side effects, nutrition, other medicines and wider health should be reviewed before changes.

Supporting healthy weight loss

Protect nutrition and muscle while appetite is lower

A good programme is about more than eating less. LIVVE should help you maintain nourishing intake and habits that can continue beyond medication.

  • Protein

Include a useful source at meals to support muscle maintenance and recovery.

  • Fibre

Increase gradually alongside fluid to support bowel health and manage constipation.

  • Hydration

Drink regularly, especially if you experience vomiting or diarrhoea.

  • Strength and movement

Combine regular activity with resistance exercise where appropriate for your health and ability.

Your LIVVE pathway

How assessment, prescribing and follow-up work

Foundayo is prescribed following a clinical assessment to make sure treatment is appropriate for you. If suitable, your LIVVE clinician will support you with prescribing, dose changes and ongoing review.

  1. Complete your assessment

Tell us about your health, medicines, contraception, weight history, previous treatments and goals.

  2. Clinical review

A LIVVE clinician checks eligibility, safety, medicine interactions and whether Foundayo may be appropriate.

  3. Prescription and supply

If approved and stock is available, the prescribed strength is dispensed with clear instructions.

  4. Ongoing support

Reviews cover appetite, side effects, adherence, nutrition, weight progress and dose suitability.
